SERVED NATURE

I have always been struck by the ease with which we commodify the natural world, transforming the very conditions that sustain life into assets to be extracted, traded, consumed, and discarded. This logic of exploitation extends far beyond the moment of consumption. It reshapes ecosystems, generates enduring forms of waste, and causes what we discard to return incessantly to life itself, dissolving the boundaries between nature and the body.

The works in this series emerge from this concern. The almost imperceptible presence of industrial waste, microplastics, and other contaminants that circulate through rivers, oceans, and food webs before ultimately returning to the human body permeates the series. Rather than representing environmental catastrophe through spectacle, the works attend to its subtle residues, revealing the material history of extraction concealed beneath everyday consumption.

I am interested in examining how pollution gradually becomes incorporated into what we eat and drink, rendering visible a form of contamination that, although largely imperceptible, has already become embedded within the fabric of everyday life.
